I Evolved So Much Over the Course of Filming

Vegas has opened my eyes to a much more competitive entertainment world. For the longest time, I always thought I was ready for a big break… But getting me out here has made me realize I still have a lot to work on! It is a big competitive world outside of Kentucky! Being in Las Vegas has encouraged me to get in the best shape in my life, both mentally and physically. People wouldn’t think that when you move to “Sin City” but honestly, you have to be healthy in order to survive and be successful in a town that is as fast paced as this one. Hopefully I am beginning to crack into that. Putting your life under a microscope for three months catapults your growth process as a person as well. I didn’t realize it at the time, but I evolved so much over the course of filming! I look back at the person who I started as and I have grown so much. I really credit a lot of that to “Southern Belles.”
I think my parents realize how much I have grown and they are really proud of me. I miss them like crazy, but they know I am working hard and living my dreams. I would never want to do anything to disown them, and I think after they got over the initial shock of Las Vegas, they were very proud. I work for an amazing company and I feel very lucky. They have been out to visit and realized that it really can be a great place to live as well.
I am focusing on my work at 702.tv and hope do everything I can to make this project a success. I am honored to be at the forefront of the future of local media. I just want to work on growing a little bit more each day, enjoying life and of course, remaining a Southern Belle in spirit.

Emily — you are a beautiful girl, but the makeup, the false eyelashes, the tacky clothes, the cleavage … they age you. And believe me, as a former TV reporter, I can assure you that it will eventually hurt your career. In fact, if I had to place your age, based on how you look in some of your interview segments, I would say late 30’s to mid-40’s. In the process, you are destroying your skin and hair … and that damage can’t be reversed. Please, go to a good makeup artist who will design a look that highlights your youth and beauty. I had the opposite problem in that I dressed too conservatively. It was hard to hear when my news director and a fellow reporter told me that I needed a makeover, but they were right and once I got it, my career options soared.
Emily,
I love love your tenacity and your ability to dream big. I do not understand why there are so many haters? I think you are transparent and genuine.
Good luck!!
